I've never given out my number and I don't live in Wales....scammers will change the CLID (Caller Line Identification) so it appears to you they are calling from within the UK,when n fact it could be anywhere in the world! It may also be Royal Gwent Hospital, but the number is compromised....if you have a Hospital appointment, phone the hospital direct....don't use this number!! Other
This number rang me at 4.3oam this morning. It stopped ringing as i picked it up. Rang back but it said it didn't support ring back. Because it said it was the phone number for the hospital health board I started to panic.
Ring me at 10 ,o clock at night by the time I got there hung up this as happened 3 times now.when you ring back the number don't receive incoming calls so annoying

Royal Gwent hospital orthopaedic outpatients department relating to a follow up consultation becoming available at short notice. When I missed the call they followed it up with a message left in my mobile quoting a normal landline number which was legit.

I've had calls from Welsh hospital appointments before. As we have CallGuardian, they would ALWAYS say who they were so we could answer the phone. This one didn't which makes me believe, having read other comments, that the phone number may be compromised?
This is the caller line identy used by the Aneurin Bevan University Healthboard, this number can be for any of the hospitals and the majority of wards, departments etc. It does not accept call backs so if you are under the care of any of the Consultants, clinics etc phone the number for that hospital and ask for the secretary of your clinician, the departmen you attend EG phyio, dietician, INR and check with them OR wait for a call back - they do not leave voicemails!

This number is from the appointment department of the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport; is a genuine number, but will not accept incoming calls. The appointment department is trying to get hold of you. If you are waiting for an appointment and have a letter from the hospital, on the top right of that letter are normally two telephone numbers, if you miss this call, phone the numbers on you letter, letting them know you missed the call, give them your hospital number (also on the letter) and they will sort out your appointment or query for you. I have just done this and now have my appointment confirmed. This number is totally safe.
Suspicious - two missed calls with messages for my 15 year old work phone for a named person that is not me. The second time they left a message they said they had phoned three time and would have to cancel the appointment. If they are Royal Gwent Hospital they are a shambles and untruthful. I see from previous responses that there is no benefit from trying to call them.

I had a voicemail from this number from an Indian lady telling me that she was a nurse on Sycamore Ward with my father and that I should go to be with him. There are no such wards at local hospitals and my father is fine!

It's the Aneurin Bevan Health Board. Number cannot be called back as it is for outgoing calls only. Voicemails cannot be left for confidentiality purposes. NOT A SCAM.
This was the operations listing office for the Royal Gwent Hospital. It works like a call centre in that you cannot call them back on this number. - you have to use their normal lines.
This is the aneurin health board hospital booking service hence why no call back function is available, however if you call the hospital switch board then they can transfer you through. IT IS NOT FRAUDULENT!!
Look at the number of searches for this number. I believe this to be a new way of scamming people into believing a hospital is trying to contact you. Surely any genuine call from the health board would be followed up by a letter if they cannot get hold of you by phone. Or at the very least a message left for you to contact them??? I have had calls showing a 'local business' number but when I answer it's a scam call. These scams are getting more elaborate. Please be very wary.

They called me and left a message for someone called Claire leaving information about her son on my answer phone even when I've picked up and said sorry you have the wrong number they still call it again ....
Not sure .. transpires Hospital (not sure which one) .. but no message left and doesn't accept ring back .. seems pointless and a waste .. plus leaves you worrying
Didn't answer, thought it was a scam, then checked on here, saw it was Neville Hall, was expecting a call about appointment. called the number i had which was a 01495 number spoke to a lady who confirmed it was 03300 number from them. Apparently they have agreed that it could look like a scam call. Will they change it ?????
I agree its the Aneurin Bevan Health Board. I've missed two calls from them recently. The number does not accept call back. It would help if the caller left a message and number to call back.

03300244637 called today but I missed it, they also rang in September (which I missed too). I called back and it's a recorded message from the Aneurin Bevan Health Board which covers a large number of hospitals across South Wales including Ystrad Mynach, Royal Gwent, Neville Hall, etc) saying that they'd tried to contact me and that they would try to contact me again. It's a generic outbound phone number. It's obviously not an emergency or they would be ringing back more often than twice in two months. They cannot leave an answering service message for reasons of confidentiality. I've now added the number to my Contacts in my phone so I'll know to answer it in future.

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board has changed it's outgoing number, it used to come up as unknown. Now it comes up as this number, it could be from anywhere within the Health Board. I work for them and thought I would help clarify the matter.
