This number appeared on my threatening debt letter from Scottish Gas,i have no intention of paying it as i paid last week and will contact a gas office. Scam suspicion

Requested a meter reading. British gas dont make robot calls . This is a scam based call. Tell the buggers to "do one." Number blocked .. if Brit Gas want me they can write!

British Gas (supposedly but I'm highly suspicious that it isn't). Automated call saying that our new account needs an opening reading and to call them back with one. We don't have a new account. No doubt they will want bank details etc?

Auto msg for meter reading due now. I'm not a B.Gas customer! Havent been for over 10 years but still keep getting auto msg.

I received a call at 9.10 am today. I did not answer, though it rang for a longish time. No answer left on my answerphone. British gas have been asking me for a gas reading recently. They are still waiting.

No message left on answer phone.

Claimed to be from BT they are scammers .... do not give any info

It could well be British Gas asking you to submit your meter readings. I checked my BG account online and confirmed that a reading was due.

Had several calls from this number now, the line just went dead when i answered.

Cant remember exactly what they said but clearly not a call I wanted so terminated call. Now got phone bill and has cost me .75p. Clearly one of those numbers that makes a charge to the person they are calling. Will ignore if number comes up next time! Fraudsters! And why doesn'nt OFCOM do something about stopping them using a 0333 number? Do they get it from BT in which case they should check out it's use.

Advising me HMRC is taking action against me. Advising me to select 1 to talk to me caseworker. BEWARE HMRC would never contact you this way must think I was born on a banana boat

Second call this month did not answer

This number has just called after a silent few seconds automated female voice saying I hadn't paid my gas bill and to phone with readings.. Have had this number several times ringing but leaving no message.

Cold caller phone not answered looked up seems to be fraudster and needs to be dealt with asap

2nd call this month from this number, we normally get calls from this number on a monthly basis. Automated system asking for a gas reading. We have NEVER provide information. Surely if British Gas wanted us to go down this route they would write to us and not just expect us to provide information willy-nilly!!!

I would not trust such incoming calls, What are 0332 numbers? An 0332 number is a special type of landline-rate Unlike traditional landline phone numbers, 0332 numbers are not linked with specific geographic locations. Calls can be directed to virtually any destination with ease. This could include having calls answered in different locations at different times of day. Using non-geographic numbers can avoid appearing to be limited in scope to a specific geographic area, & removes any need to change telephone numbers in the event of relocation to a different area.
