Automated call from "Lloyds Bank" quoting my wife's actual name and asking to call a different number (03456031754) with a PIN code to confirm a recent credit card transaction. Both numbers are different to the numbers on the back of our credit card and the number quoted on the Lloyds website. Called the Lloyds number and they said that there are a large number of scam calls at the moment and that you should never call a number such as this. The operator even called the number I gave and confirmed that this is definitely a scam. To be clear - this is a scam. Do not call this number back. There are multiple issues that could ensue; your phone could be charged a premium rate while you sit in an automated queue; you could be asked to provide account details including your account number, sort code and PIN; you could be added to a list for further scam calls and the chances are that your number will then be targeted by a different set of scammers again. Ignore all the comments below stating that this is a genuine Lloyds Fraud Prevention - it isn't. These comments have been posted by the scammers and they are part of the problem. Scam suspicion
This is 100 per cent genuine. If you get a call check your bank account straight away. Other
Very worrying having so many calls from this number when I've just been given a new landline number. Don't answer but maybe need to be ex directory?
Claims to be Lloyds Bank Fraud Prevention and asks to “press any button to carry out fraud check”. I hung up and called Lloyds Telephone Banking, they checked with the Fraud team who advised my account was fine and they would usually send a text to alert me. Bit concerning that they knew my name and middle initial so be cautious ...
It's a genuine number but also a nuisance. When you confirm your DOB it cuts you off! They keep calling again and again.
Lloyds bank saying I had used my credit card a lot in 24 hrs asking if it was me . 100% Genuine
Had a call from this number (03453 511498) with an automated message with my literal full name saying from Lloyds bank fraud team asking me to press a button to learn more, being sceptical I put the phone down and contacted a number from their website. After speaking with their customer services, they stated it IS A GENUINE number and said I did the right thing if unsure. They put me through to the Fraud team and it was in fact a fraudulent transaction they declined and stated they text a person first (if they have a mobile number) then ring if struggling to confirm the transaction.
Bit worrying as there are so many comments saying that this is genuine - biggest problem is that I do not have a Lloyds Bank Account!!
This number is not a scam. Following up on cancelled transactions yesterday. Automated system 100% genuine.
This number had called a few times in the past 2 days. Call Gaurdian phone answered, whoever it was didn't announce themselves so was rejected by Call Gaurdian. I never ring back, I figure if they don't want to announce themselves, that at the very least, it will have been a nuisance call! Wouldn't be without these Call Gaurdian phones now. Not one nuisance call has got through since purchase 18 months ago!
Just called Lloyds fraud line on 0800 917 7017 and they confirmed the number is one of theirs
Lloyds credit card fraud check. Absolutely genuine. Automated message called out my last 5 transactions and wanted to confirm they were genuine. I suspect it was triggered because I paid for a screen repair at Apple for £149 via Apple Pay today, and I’ve never used Apple Pay for such a high value before. A very useful service.
had texts and phone calls from this number and mobile number about transactions on my Lloyd’s card, scam.
Three times phone rang saying 'this call is for Miss E........ E..... ' That is not my name nor do I have a credit card with Lloyds Bank!!! SCAM
This was lloyds calling they prevented me from using my card on a charity site then called to " help me protect my card".
after checking it turns out it was Lloyds bank who prevented me buying something that I wanted earlier in the day suspecting it may have been a fraud. But if nobody has a telephone on them the system does not work what's the point of having a card if you cannot use them. Come on shape up Lloyds!. My phone is a BT call guardian and they just hang up.
Number three times on 9/6/2017. Caller Guidance blocked the robot machine calling. Have done checks it is definitely a Lloyds Bank automated phone number. When I contacted them on the official customer service number they confirmed that they had been trying to contact me on three occasions on the 9th. There were two unrecognised pending payments shown on my account. As a result the fraud department are sorting them out. Thank you Lloyds Bank.
Just phoned my bank it a scam ,dont give out any details about account, def SCAM NOW BLOCKED NO FROM PHONE
Rang customer services number on back of credit card who confirmed call was genuine and put me straight through to their fraud department who had already declined the fraudulent payment. Good service
Automated call from this number saying from lloyds fraud team. I hung up and rang the number on the back of my credit card from a different phone. It turns out it was a genuine call from the fraud team checking a credit card transaction flag up. Always pays to be safe and ring back via your known card phone number as too many scams going around.
Called Lloyds on line Credit Card Service number regarding 03453511498 and they have confirmed the text message I received and subsequent automated call was genuine, regarding a suspicious Credit card transaction. Passed on to security team (took a bit of time to connect) and they gave more details about the attempted transaction. It turns out that there where three uses, all declined thankfully and even the location where they were used.
SCAM! STAY AWAY. Do not give out personal info and for God's sake ignore the 'all is ok' comments.
Confirmed as Lloyds credit card fraud team. I made sure the line was clear and called back using number from back of card. All fine they just wanted to check a transaction
Followed up the my previous comments about this number 03453511498 by ringing Lloyds HQ and they confirmed that it was them ringing to ask about a card transaction . So much for the local Branch saying it was a Scam . The trouble is I get so many of these calls a week , if I do not recognise the number on the phone`s display , I don`t answer .
This number 03453511498 has called 3 times in 24 hours on my home phone . I answered it once and an automated message said it was from Lloyds Fraud Section and inviting me to press any key to learn more , I was suspicious and didn`t .I went to Lloyds Bank this morning and they confirmed it was fraud .
Automated voicemail left claiming to be from Lloyds Fraud team. I have spoken to Lloyds fraud team before and it was not an automated service so I have ignored it.
numerous calls from this and 03453510193. They obviously had some personal information but when I followed through the automated bit a person called 'Nigel' eventually answered and seemed very unprofessional. Almost certainly a scam.
Automated message claiming to be from Lloyds bank credit card fraud department. Same number later but when answer machine picked up they hung up. Checked Lloyds website and this number isn't in there. Pretty sure it's a con. Said my name, but I suppose my name and phone number is pretty easy to get hold of.
This number called me twice today about 5 hours apart claiming to be from Lloyds bank about credit card use. Automated message for named person.
