Got text today reminder 'my APPOINTMENT' which I don't remember made one. Obviously scam. As tried to call back the number doesn't exist. Unknow
Have called doctors office and hospital...no appointments so this appears to be a hoax. no response to my rebook text either. stop wasting nhs time whoever's behind this!! i had to bother 2 nhs staff to double check: message sent: "cofiwch apwyntiad gig/nhs eich plentyn ar 11/10/19. os yw'n gyfleus, pediwch ateb. ateb aildrefnu 2063 os am aildrefnu neu na 2063 os nad oes angen. diolch. remember your child's nhs appointment on 11/10/19. if attending, don't reply. reply rebook 2063 to rearrange or no 2063 if no longer needed. thanks"
I received a message about a letter of an appointment being booked with time and date ect. I looked it up people saying it’s a scam but I’ve come home to a letter with the same information on ..... SO it’s NOT a scam
If this is truly from the NHS ref an appointment they would know my d.o.b. and would send any appointments through the post.i am treating it as a scam.
Text message 'this is a digital communicommunication to remind you of... Etc. Except I didn't have anything to be reminded of!!! Deleted and put in the Annoying Time Waster folder
Looked like it might be legit since it had correct details for an existing appointment, but the wording did feel a bit iffy and not a recognised number, nor one I could find confirmation of as NHS online. I rang the department I had appointment at and they confirmed it was a legit number for the new sms NHS reminder service they have started using at my local hospital.
Patient Portal digital letter invitation. From my local hospital trust. Wants me to login to the link below with a PIN they gave me and my DOB. http not https so just in case I won't bother.
Received a text to remind me of an appointment the following week, with options. I do have regular checks ups and my next appt. was 3 months away. I deleted the text The following week I had another text, saying So I rang my hospital and after hanging on for 25mins was told I did have an appointment! No letter or phone call was sent to me. Attended after cancelling another engagement to be told the dept. I am under has no jurisdiction over appointments. This looks as if NHS has contracted out the appointment system to an inefficient agency? The language of the text sounded foreign! Perhaps my complaint to administration may have some effect!!!! Good luck if you have a similar experience.
2 messages from this number today. Haven't any appointments for this day. Can say - it's scam!
Had text saying had hospital appointment. Called my doctor and the hospital with the supposed appointment. Neither my doctors or hospital knew of any appointments. I would say scam of some sort
This is a genuine NHS txt reminder number for NHS appointments - due to information governance reasons they cannot txt more details of names and clinics, so can only txt basic details to remind patients of the date and times.
Text giving appointment time & date for an ultrasound at Croydon hospital with a reply to reschedule or cancel text number. Called hospital. No record of my name or appointment. I hadn't booked anything, this was out of the blue.
Received text message saying you have an appointment at Croydon University Hospital on 14 August @ 4pm. It did not state at which department, however this is a legit text as I do have an appointment there on that date and time in ENT.
Genuine text reminder of hospital appointment for next week - correct date & time stated.
A text message received about a hospital appointment in Hull asking me to text back if I can't make it. I live about 200 miles from Hull.Did not reply back with a text it could be a premium rate number.Just deleted text.
NOT a scam. It's a mobile number used by NHS to confirm appointments. Specsavers referred me to NHS eye clinic and passed my mobile number over.
I received a text this afternoon from this number saying I have an appointment at Southend Hospital on 10 January and inviting me to text back. I live in West Gloucestershire, have no health issues and have never been to Southend in m y life. Ignoring it as it seems pretty obviously a scam.
Genuine hospital phone number either calling with results appointment or a reminder do not ignore
Text received 15.59 24/11/2016 A "Reminder" for an appointment I didn't have, so very suspicious. HOWEVER, 25/11/2016 I looked up the address & department I was waiting to hear from & to my surprise it was GENUINE! Stupid wording in the text, none the less for me, at least a real confirmed appointment t for next week.
THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!!!!!! After receiving a text about a appointment at the Dental hospital I rang the Dental Hospital and my Dentist. The appointment did not exist. This is a very clever SCAM as it is targeting people who have recently had treatment. DO NOT reply to this text as it will cost you money. If you are not sure contact your Doctor, Dentist or Hospital.
Just phoned my surgery but they have no appointment for me. Very annoying as I am receiving treatment at the moment and I didn't want to miss any of my many appointments. I tried ringing the number but its not available. Very odd.
THIS IS NOT A SCAM as some people suggested. I've just received a txt to remind me of an important hospital appointment which is a checkup from a previous operation. A missed appointment costs the NHS approximately £160 so please don't ignore it.
This number texted me half in Welsh telling me about an appt I didn't have it said to text no to 3454 or Rebook to 3454 when I went to rebook my phone told me there would be a charge for the text. I believe this is a scam. The tel no it came from is 07860054507 which is a number not recognised
This is an nhs txt alert system to remind you of a hospital appointment. A lot of gp surgeries do the same. It is an attempt to save people forgetting and wasting appointments. I am a nurse so i should know!! It is an automated system so you may receive a txt a y time, 7 days aa week It is not a scam as previously suggested
This number called and texted twice but was for a genuine hospital appointment that I had been notified by letter. I should point out that it did not ask me to text back but gave a landline number to ring to rebook if needed.
text for hospital appointment at St George`s in London asking me to text 9315 and it would cost the NHS £100 if I missed the appointment - checked -and i had no appointment -whats going on
Text me on Good Friday (when all hospital departments are closed) to tell me I had an appointment on 01/04/2016 at my local hospital. Called the hospital but the lady on the phone assured me that all departments were shut and therefore couldn't have sent any texts.
I got a text from this number saying i had an appointment but was quite convincing because i had an appointment the next day. Very convincing as half of the text was in welsh.
Message was reminder about a Breast Surgery appt at local hospital, with number to text to rebook. Suspect this is a phishing scam, but it's enough to freak anyone out.
Not a scam and genuine from hospital trust about future appointments. Only confusing thing about text is it seems to come from main hospital in trust and not your local hospital. When you read the letter online the local hospital is named. Maybe the original text should be reworded to include name of your local hospital.
Text message telling me my child has an appointment at a hospital MILES away. Wrong person/ number. I messaged back. No reply
this number is apprently connect to the NHS appointment reminder system. and asks you to confirm or rearrange your appointment by replying to 1191, i tried to reply times but i kept getting "sorry couldn't recognise you request. please try again" i replied THREE times and got CHAGRED 15p each time ! trying to contact my local hospital as i write this.
Received a text allegedly from my local health centre asking me to accept, change or cancel an appointment I had not made. Phoned the doctors and clinic and they know nothing about it. Ignoring message in case it is a premium line scam.
Got a text requiring me to respond, to cancel, accept etc. This hospital is the other side of the country to me and I have NO appt at this hospital. I am going to Ingore in case it’s a scam; I’m certainly not inputting my DOB or giving them any other details. I would go forward with caution unless you have signed up with the Hospital to receive text messages; and there is NO WAY they will text you if you have not agreed for them to use your mobile phone.
just rang the hospital....its legit. if you dont reply they will just expect that you are attending. they should rely just say text back if youre not attending. the MUST wording is a little harsh though
Scam. Sent me a text asking to connect to an NHS portal with a link and type in my DOB.The department they said they were from doesn't exist. I've worked for the NHS for 30 years and know that they would never send such a linkThe link is a scam. Don't click on it
Well it does seem legitimate. I typed the link into my tablet and it came up with a site branded "Connect" with "nhsportal.net" as a https address in the address line. I entered my birthdate and the pin from the initial text. this was difficult on the tablet as the onscreen keyboard covers the input fields so you can't see what you are typing. It then displayed a welcome screen with my correct name and address plus the appointment that I had recently made directly with the nhs. Underneath was an electronic letter with some instructions including a map of how to get to the appointment. It had options to print or save as pdf. It asks you to confirm or cancel the appointment.
No call, just sent a random postcode via message, no explanation. I’m a bloke, never registered with a doc/local nhs but today is my first ever sick day in several years, so spooky coinicedence or what??
Received text about NHS appointment which, after checking by phoning the department dealing with me, is genuine.
Nhs, says I had an appointment at Royal Berks Hospital, bit worrying as I moved to Lincolnshire 10 years ago, so not my local hospital, must have got my number mixed up
Txt reminding me about hospital appt - Dont like the wording " your MUST reply " sounds scammy ?? but had my appointment details correct - since it has no details regarding the return text call costsand arrived out of hours am not going to reply - suspect nhs selling basic appt details to cowboys who rake in the premium rate reply charges ! - If it genuine then nhs should reword so it doesnt read like a scam and also advise patients about the "MUST" bit of the text ??
