They called me yesterday i did some digging i see the comments here and on other similar sites. Mostly saying its a scam caller so i thought id do some investigating. Im ex police so i played along today and its actually genuine. They are registered company with companies house and on hmrc's website too. They can be persistant and invasive but they are ligit. I didnt think banks still did this nowadays. Survey
Called repeatedly today, nothing said, disconnected after 10 seconds or so. Callback is a high-price call, presume they're hoping people will call and pay for nothing. Scam suspicion
Just had a call on landline claiming to be working for the Halifax. Gave me details of visit to bank last week. How do they have this info? We will be going in to branch on Monday to complain.
Called today was asked about my experience at a bank knew my name she wanted me to confirm who I was I said would you like my account details ?called her a rat and she hung up how rude ?♀️Joking aside be careful scam fraud ?
Phoned 29th October saying they were from Lloyd’s bank and said they wanted to take some details. It’s a scam
Asked me to do a survey about my recent visit to my local branch, I said I hadn’t made one and he said do I not visit Friday. I said no I didn’t he said no worries okay bye. DO NOT GIVE THESE INFORMATION! Fakes
This person called on a Sunday, said our names and our bank my husband put the phone down, ho have they got my details.
Rang up asked about a survey and knew when I was in bank? Seen all over internet it’s a scam too get your money, be aware
Called, left no message, calling number wronly presented on Voice over Internet Phone.
Call came in on the landline the 11th Sept at 19.30 when identification is needed they hang up.
How did they know that I had actually visited the building society on that particular day when I don't go there very often that worries me more
Called last two days. No message left so obviously not important. Another time waster I suspect.
0861800784 is linked to tex 57976 Vodafone paid two lots on 10/7/19 and on 15/7/19 the amount was 12.50euros can I claim this back off Vodafone who paid this out for no tex I did not get any tex on them dates
Called two day's running at around 6pm, I answered, but long pause, then i hung up. Will invest in a whistle to blow down the phone as a deterent, not to call me again.
They obviously employ people of low intelligence levels judging by one I’ve just had
Hung up as I answered call. Market researchers for banks apparently. I care not that these types of calls are legal, it's time to ban them. Go away Motif, the way you conduct calls demonstrates you do NOT present yourself as a reputable company. Nobody wants to be interrupted with your invasive calls.
It's legit - https://thisismotif.com/contact-us This Is Motif Ltd. 25 West Tenter St London E1 8DT 0203 653 0240 firstname.lastname@example.org They work with all UK banks and building societies on behalf of the financial ombudsman for market research etc. Personally I wasn't overjoyed that my name, number and the company I bank with is shared as a dataset to a third party but there's no way to opt-out I confirmed this with my bank and with the company in question. You can just say "do not contact me again" and they will not.
Called earlier by this number. Didn't believe it at first, so I decided to string them along a little. Even had the call recorded so I could play it for police. Then they mentioned the staff member that served me by name and I felt like a bit of an idiot. They didn't ask anything untoward. It was a basic staff review questionnaire, stuff like "how long did you wait" and "how friendly was the staff" and all that other nonsense. If the bank wants to waste money on that sort of thing finding out how people feel, that's their business, but I do think a few people here are a little hysterical. They didn't ask any bank details. Can't imagine this being a scam considering what they asked.
Called on behalf of Scottish Widows, wanted to get feedback on customer relations. Company is called Motif, Bristol, 4th floor, 116 Dundas St, Edinburgh, EH3 5DQ - 0131 558 9793. Bit slow and irritating to listen too - waffled on about 1-10 feedback. I am amazed these guys exist, whose is paying for them to sit on the phone and data mine.
Called knowing my name and pretending to be from a Bank but would not tell me which bank.
Foreign accent very poor english, I knew my gaelic swear words would come in useful.
rang my husband's mobile - he did not answer as we do not answer unsolicited / unknown numbers. If they are indeed Motif their adversarial comments on their web site regarding privacy and whether they have the right to call is indicative of their random approach to 'surveying' people. They claim they receive 'samples of customers details' to contact them and so they are not breaking the law etc . we did not give permission for our bank to 'share' out details with 'Motif'. All very unsettling and clearly dangerous behaviours. If the bank really wants to understand their customers, suggest they start by not employing random companies to make unsolicited calls on their behalf or supply contact information when permission has NOT been given.
number 08000803242 - is a marketing company on behalf of TSB, call existing TSB customers to rate their services
Called me, I didn’t answer, but after reading the previous comments, I think they contact you to research after you have actually called the bank . Might be annoying, but probably legitimate!
Just received this call, did t answer it as was too slow to get to the phone! No message left after it rang ( two rings) .... checked number and see it a scam ... I’m blocking it now thanks to this site!
Just rang my mobile, said from my bank. Hmmm don't so. I refused to answer any questions and then hung up.
Just had a call on my mobile from this number I didn't answer they didn't leave a message. I checked this website as I always do. Thanks everyone for the info.
08000 803 242 called my mum on her landline just now asking for her by name. Said he wanted to talk about her visit into her branch of Halifax last week. She hung up. Scam, scam, scam!
